Terra da mari
The concept of Terradamari is born from the energy of a place immersed in the absolute: the land as a backstage, the sea as an endless horizon. Every design choice is guided by this character, with materials, colours and light in constant dialogue with the surrounding natural elements, in a true celebration of Mediterranean essence beyond seasonality: the blue of the sea, the green of the vegetation, the yellow of the dunes and of the stone used to build the area's most representative towns.
The search for the name followed three guidelines: territoriality in its broadest sense, history and its relationship with tradition, and finally imagination. Playing with the Sicilian language, an evocative name was born, one that can be read in multiple ways, a land to love (terra da amari) and the land seen from the sea (terra da mare).
An ancient echo, that of sailors shouting "land!" from their ships to signal the long awaited landing: the same perspective the hotel wants to give its guests, who will see it appear on the horizon before discovering it opening onto the sea.
The brand positioning, Sense the soul of Sicily, rests on three pillars: a natural design, inspired by the Mediterranean landscape; an authentic soul, rooted in the genius loci and far from the clichés about Sicily; an immersive experience, where the presence of the sea is constant and aromatic vegetation accompanies every moment of the stay.
The Colours of Eastern Sicily
The identity of Terradamari is born from the desire to reflect the strong personality of Sicilian nature. The colour palette draws inspiration from the sand dunes of Modica, the colours of the sky and the sea, and more broadly from the unique light of this corner of Sicily, a delicate mix of blue, sand and grey, enriched with two more intense and contrasting tones, reserved for the logo to accentuate its presence.
The logotype is simple yet effective: an elegant typeface in which a stylised waterline is subtly woven into the last of the three "A" letters, a gentle nod to the sea. The logo is designed to be flexible in use, both as a standalone mark and in combination with the Tapestry Collection logo.
Alongside the logotype, a graphic symbol represents both a wave and a dune: it does not replace the main mark, but can be used as a distinctive element for wax seals, pins or personalised embroidery. The choice of typefaces, Asiatiyca Free for the logo and Neutra Text for body copy, completes an elegant, timeless identity, in keeping with the character of the place.
The brand language accompanies guests through every detail of their stay: from the key card to the luggage tag, from the document holder to the checkout folder, down to the "Do Not Disturb" and "Make Up Room" signs. Four legged guests are not forgotten either, with a dedicated pet area.
In the room, the story continues through the minibar menu, the "With Compliments" cards, the invitation to "Save the Water," and on to scented essences, a beach bag and a complimentary taste of Modica chocolate, small gestures that bring the territory into the most intimate space of the stay.
Arriving at Terradamari means reaching a unique place bordering the sea, from which it draws its energy and inspiration: a mosaic inspired by ancient ceramics decorates the walls of the lobby, while large windows are a constant reminder of the sea's presence.
In the rooms, every space breaks down the boundary between indoors and outdoors, with beech wood and sandstone echoing the territory, and a scent inspired by Sicilian aromas, citrus, almonds, rosemary, completing the atmosphere.
The wellness area brings together pools, saunas and relaxation spaces, both indoor and outdoor, in a holistic experience accompanied by citrus herbal teas and treatments with Sicilian aromatic herbs.
By the pool, the atmosphere evokes the Dolce Vita, with Sicilian granita and sunset aperitivi accompanied by arancine and panelle. In the kitchen, Modica tradition meets Caltagirone ceramics, with 'mpanatigghi and chocolate, while at the bar cocktails are enriched with local flavours such as the Rosemary Mojito and the bergamot Modica Mule.
