In the mood for love
The wallpaper collection was born from "The Room" project, the result of a collaboration between three brands: Spaghetti Wall, Ferroluce and Innova. The inspiration comes from the atmosphere charged with emotional tension and the refined aesthetic of 1960s Hong Kong and Shanghai, masterfully captured by Wong Kar-wai in the film In the Mood for Love.
The goal was to recreate a feeling of elegant nostalgia, secret romance and an almost suffocating intimacy. From this suggestion, the three wallpapers of the collection were born: Electricity, Chemistry and Tension.
At this stage of the story, the emotional tension turns hypnotic. There is no longer a clear direction to the journey, but a stationary dance made of circular waiting and melancholic returns. The narrative suggests an almost suffocating closeness, where beauty is born from the repetition of the same gesture: that of a love which, while remaining in the shadows, inhabits every inch of the space.
The first part of the story is entrusted to a pattern that recalls the density of memories and the richness of the fabrics that clothe the waiting. Leaves chase one another in a vertical sequence that evokes the tension of an encounter in a narrow corridor: a constant movement, yet frozen in time. The deep tones and history-laden veining suggest a melancholic beauty, made of dignity and secrets kept behind closed doors.
It draws inspiration from the rhythm of footsteps in narrow corridors and chance encounters on staircases, where the geometry of the space reflects the composure of the protagonists. It is the story of a routine that breaks, where every vertical line suggests the invisible yet impassable barrier between two lives that brush against one another.
